Tax Executives Institute, Inc. - Chicago Chapter (TEI)
2007 / 2008 Professor's Award Application

Goals:
The goals of the TEI Chicago Chapter Professor’s Award are to recognize and reward outstanding academic performance in undergraduate tax courses and to expose recipients to career opportunities and internship programs available within the corporate tax environment. Also, these awards are intended to promote diversity within the tax community. By tradition, the awards are to honor TEI members whose contributions to the chapter have been outstanding; this year’s honorees will be named at a later date.

Two awards of $1,500 will be awarded for the 2008-09 academic year, unless otherwise directed by the awardees. Awards will be credited directly to students’ tuition accounts for tuition or may be used for tuition for DePaul’s CPA Review Program. In addition, award recipients are eligible to attend chapter meetings, as long as they remain in their academic program.

Eligibility:
• Full-time undergraduate students who 1) have declared or intend to declare Accounting, Economics or Finance as their major, and 2) have maintained an overall grade point average of 3.0 are eligible.
• Students may receive only one TEI Professor’s Award during their studies at DePaul. Students currently receiving full-tuition scholarships (from any source) are not eligible for this program.
• Members of TEI and their immediate families are ineligible. Scholarships are awarded without regard to the applicant’s race, color, creed, religion, sex, or national origin.

Requirements:
• Recommendation by a faculty member for noteworthy achievement within an undergraduate accounting course (preferably a tax course), or by a faculty member for noteworthy achievement in a business course with tax or tax-related content.
• Completion of the application form.
• Current resume including employment history and extracurricular activities.
• Award recipients are required to attend one of TEI Chicago Chapter meetings held monthly. Early participation with the Chicago TEI chapter is an outstanding addition to a young career.
