Welcome to the Student's Page of Ledger & Quill Online. Here are some of the resources you may find helpful:
Is yore righting OK? Need like; um, uh, help and stuff?
DePaul's Center for Writing-based Learning has a newly-revamped website with an impressive variety of resources for students--too many to list here--and links to educational materials and other websites. The website provides easy access to the Center and staff (try the webcam appointment!). Check out the Writing Website, and the Center has a Loop office, too, in 1620 Lewis Center. Go ahead--make an appointment to work with a peer consultant now.
Internships/part-time job opportunities:
We no longer list current offers in the School of Accountancy offices, because the best place for full and up-to-the-minute information is at the DePaul Career Center, through e-Recruiting. Access information is on the website.
NONETHELESS, the School has many special relationships with leading firms such as Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Abbott Laboratories, BDO Seidman, and, most recently, Credit Suisse. Visit the Career Center for more information.
Current scholarships & awards
Our 2007-08 scholarship and award program roster is updated throughout the year. We keep the list up year round so you can see what is available next year (2008-09). Be sure to visit the School offices, too, for information and applications. This year the School and the DePaul accounting alumni organization Ledger & Quill are providing over $230,000 in scholarships, awards and prizes for accounting majors.
And check out the array of scholarships offered by the
Illinois CPA Society--and November 30 deadline is close.
Computer-based CPA Exam
Read the new and updated (2007) brochure from the Illinois CPA Society, to better understand the computer-based testing process for the CPA Exam. It's here.
Free is Good . . .
Ledger & Quill, the alumni society of the School of Accountancy, is offering to pay the membership fee for all DEPAUL STUDENT GROUP MEMBERS who sign up as a Student Member of the Illinois CPA Society.
Such a deal. Visit the ICPAS's student website Future CPA to see what's available with your membership.
Just complete the application (available in the School offices and the student group offices), and send it in to the ICPAS. That's it--you're member . . . and for free.
