Shoes, Shirts but no S-Ox #4:   L&Q Makes Waves

Over a hundred friends and members again enjoyed an early evening on the lake at our fourth annual Reception-on-the-Lake, Thursday, June 25, aboard the beautiful yacht Chicago's First Lady. Hosted by outgoing president Ed Fellin and incoming president Jenny Babiak, the reception, in addition to good times for all, provided an opportunity for some of our many scholarship students to thank the membership and our scholarship sponsors for their support. L&Q was especially pleased with a strong turn-out from our newer members, those from the School's recent graduates.

Fall ’08 Luncheon Honors Students, Sponsors . . .and our very own Stacia

Our 34th annual Ledger & Quill Fall Luncheon,  November 19, 2008, held in the Empire Room of the Palmer House Hilton, attracted over 200 friends and members. Hosted by L&Q President Ed Fellin and School Director Kevin Stevens, this year's celebration included the Helene Ramanauskas Prize,  over 40 new-student scholarships, the 2008-09 Success Through Scholarship awards, and the Robert M. Peters Scholarships. Student speakers included senior Charlene Rhinehart, and incoming students Christopher Ehas and Erica LeMaster. L&Q was also delighted this year to make the inaugural presentations of the new Success Through Scholarship awards, those sponsored by Gerald and Jennifer Beeson, Helen Pekny, and John J. and Kathleen A. Vitanovec.

One highlight was certainly the presentation of the 2008 Ledger & Quill Award of Merit to one of DePaul's Finest: long-term member, Board member, Executive Committee member, President's Club member and good friend of DePaul and DePaul students, Stacia Taylor.

Shoes, Shirts but No S-Ox #3: Questionable Off-shore Activities

Our third annual L&Q Reception-on-the-Lake, June 24, 2008,  attracted another large crowd aboard Chicago's First Lady, including students, faculty, university administrators, L&Q officers and members, as well as members of  the Class of '08. Hosted again by L&Q president Ed Fellin and School Director Kevin Stevens, a special feature of the cruise was brief reports--and many expressions of gratitude--from a few of our scholarship students.

Just under 100 Ledger & Quill members and friends assembled quayside at Burnham Harbor for our second annual L&Q Spring Reception-on-the-Lake (Thursday, June 21, 2007), this year aboard the yacht Valara VI.
